"Sacrifice" by Austin, Texas funk duo The Vapor Caves is the sixth track from Project Traction, a mentorship program that helps female and nonbinary artists gain traction in the recording and producing fields. "Sacrifice" was produced by multiple award-winning vocalist Kam Franklin of Houston, Texas-based Gulf Coast soul band The Suffers and GRAMMY-nominated musician Jim Eno of Spoon.

Funk connoisseurs will recognize this interpolation of the Teddy Pendergrass disco classic, “You Can’t Hide From Yourself” in this Nu Disco track. The Suffers’ booming brass re-creates the iconic horn fanfare that opened the original Gamble & Huff-written jam. Kam Franklin helps bring the arrangement to life, lending her golden voice to harmonies that weave in and out of “Sacrifice.” Even Jim Eno adds a spicy bongo feature to a delightful disco instrumental break that anchors this triumphant new single from The Vapor Caves.
